My new summer reading list includes three books on tea~!

The Book of Tea by Kakuzo Okakura (this one’s a reread)
For All the Tea in China: How England Stole the World’s Favorite Drink and Changed History by Sarah Rose (A girl in my ‘China and it’s Western Observers’ class did a paper based on the story in this book so I’m super interested in reading this one)
Liquid Jade: The Story of Tea from East to West by Beatrice Hohenegger (bought this one on a whim so lets see how it goes!)

The Butterfly Alphabet ~

Smithsonian researcher Kjell Sandved spent 40+ yrs photographing nature on every continent.  One day, hidden away on a dusty shelf inside an old cigar box, Sandved found a butterfly with a perfect letter ‘F’ on its wing.  He wondered if he could find more letters in the wing patterns of other butterflies.  So, for 24 years, he kept traveling, photographing butterflies and adding to the alphabet collection.  In 1975 his completed collection was published in Smithsonian Magazine.
